Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Melt unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add packed brown sugar and stir until it dissolves—about 2-3 minutes.
  • Let the mixture gently simmer, stirring for another minute or two.
  • Take it off the heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
  • Combine the cooled caramel with softened butter in your mixer bowl.
  • Beat on medium speed until it’s light and fluffy—give it 3-5 minutes.
  • Slowly add sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time.
  • Pour in heavy cream and vanilla extract.
  • Keep beating until it’s smooth and creamy.
  • Add salt and mix until it’s all blended in.
