Slow-Cooker Barbecue Spareribs

Tender, fall-off-the-bone slow cooker barbecue spareribs with a dry spice rub and sticky BBQ glaze.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 racks St. Louis-style spareribs 2.5-3 pounds each
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 6 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke

Instructions
 

  • Mix all the dry spices in a bowl and rub them onto the ribs.
  • Arrange the spareribs upright in the slow cooker, thick ends down.
  • Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  • Transfer to a broiler-safe pan and brush with a sauce made from the remaining ingredients.
  • Broil for 5 minutes until the sauce bubbles and gets a little charred.

Notes

For best results, cook on low for 7-8 hours.
