Plum Clafoutis – Best Tarte ever!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh plums, halved and pitted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup almond flour (optional for extra flavor)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Butter for greasing the dish
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven and Dish:
    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish with butter.
  2. Arrange the Plums:
    • Place the halved plums cut-side down in the greased dish.
  3. Make the Batter:
    • In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and frothy. Add milk, vanilla, and salt, then gradually whisk in the flour (and almond flour, if using) until smooth.
  4. Assemble and Bake:
    • Pour the batter over the plums, ensuring they are partially submerged.
    • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the clafoutis is golden brown and set in the middle.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature.
