Khalil Rafati, the founder and owner of SunLife Organics, hit rock bottom in 2003 at 33 years old. He was living on the streets of Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, addicted to heroin and cocaine. Weighing just 109 pounds, he had nothing left but made the life-changing decision to get sober. Although his future began to brighten, he still struggled with unhealthy habits, including smoking, junk food, and excessive coffee and energy drinks. Exhausted and depressed, Khalil was seeking a change.
Discovering the Power of Juicing
A friend introduced Khalil to juicing and superfoods, and the results were immediate and transformative. Anxiety faded, and energy surged, bringing a renewed sense of vitality. For the first time in years, Khalil felt alive and began experimenting in the kitchen to make these natural remedies both enjoyable and part of his daily routine.
Learning from Around the World
Khalil’s journey into the world of organic food took him to India, Indonesia, and Central America. There, he learned from gurus, Ayurvedic doctors, street vendors, and longevity specialists.
