When I heard that he is the new Sexiest Man Alive, I just said out loud “Duh, of course. He is hot. He is gorgeous!”. And what I saw, he has a great heart. All you expect from the hottest hunk out there. And all my girlfriends agree. He is all that a girl wants.
But there is more than meets the eye. Her brings people together. He represents the LGBTQ community. But is also seen just as the cool, sexy dude that all women (and men) fall for , adore. Hang on every words he says. This is a unique talent to have and he uses it for good.
Zou can argue about a lot of things with people. Especially in these days (politics, values,…), but not about Jonathan Bailey. We are all agreeing – We adore him!!!
• Jonathan Bailey named People magazine Sexiest Man Alive 2025.
• He rose from stage actor to global star via Bridgerton and Wicked.
• He is openly gay and uses his voice for causes.
• This cover signals mainstream visibility and progress.
• I care about who you are as a person, not who you love.
Why this cover matters
This People cover feels like a cultural check. Mainstream press honored an openly gay man with one of the most visible pop culture titles. That matter reaches beyond one magazine. Young people who do not see themselves in glossy pages get a mirror. Casting rooms and brands that still play old rules get a clear message. Visibility changes the conversation. Visibility asks the industry to aim higher for inclusion.
Why Jonathan Bailey
Jonathan did the work. He learned his craft on stage. He brought nuance to Bridgerton. He brought heart to Wicked. He chose complex roles and he delivered. Fans responded. Critics responded. Brands responded. People voted with attention and affection. That makes this pick organic, not token.
Roles that built him
Bridgerton put him on millions of screens. Wicked gave him a lead in a tentpole musical moment. Each role showed range, charm, and depth. Casting directors saw talent. Audiences saw honesty. That combo led here.
My take as editor in chief
I am Tamara Fellner. I run WomanEdit. I look for signs. This cover is a sign. I do not care who you kiss. I do not care your skin color. I care that you stand for something. Jonathan stands for something. He uses his platform to speak up. He treats people with respect. That matters more than labels.
This moment will not fix every wrong. This moment does open doors. Progress often arrives in small steps and loud covers. We should celebrate, then push for structural change where inclusion still lacks teeth.
What this means for culture and for you
This cover nudges the culture toward merit and heart. Studios, magazines, and advertisers will notice that audiences respond to real people who act like humans. Your attention shapes the next trend. If your feed fills with fresh faces who reflect a wider world, you helped.
Small actions that move the needle

• Call out exclusion when you see it in entertainment or media.
I love it!
This People cover feels honest and overdue. Jonathan Bailey earned this through talent, hard work, and kindness. That combination matters. Celebrate him for art, for heart, and for what his visibility offers to kids who need role models.
